Stomach paste?

So Austin has a pretty bad diaper rash from slip n sliding earlier this week in a wet swim diaper. We have been using Boudreaux's Butt Paste to heal his rash. It was healing but we went swimming last night and he actually asked to go home to get his medicine because his rash hurt. Well, tonight I had a stomach ache and I told Austin that it hurt....a few seconds later he went and got the Butt Paste out and wanted to put some on my stomach. What did I do? I let him put the sticky, thick and stinky Butt Paste on my stomach. He asked me if I was all better and I told him yes and thanked him for taking care of his mommy. The stuff really is awesome so if you are a mom and don't use it, you should definitely try it.

They learn so much from us at this age and soak up everything we do and say...that can be both good and scary at the same time.

Memorial Day weekend

We went to OKC to spend Memorial Day with the family. We didn't make it to any of our grandparents graves but we managed to get some good food and games in. Kinda had out priorities screwed up I guess. No, it was just to hard to go to all the cemeteries with two little ones. We had a cookout at my parents and Austin played with his papa at his new house.

Rooster Days

Every Mother's Day weekend Broken Arrow has their city festival, Rooster Days. My mom was here for the weekend so she got to go with us this year. Austin was old enough this year to ride the rides and Vivian just slept like a little angel in her stroller. Nick and I even got on the wildest ride and I seriously thought I was going to pee my pants. I guess I have lost my wild side. Enjoy!

Flashback Friday

I took this several years ago on Mother's day. Just so you know, Nick gave me permission to post this. The shirts were me and my moms and Nick and his brother, Kevin, thought it would be funny to put them on for laughs. My favorite is the belly hair but I also love the yellow blinds in the background. I grew up with those blinds in my parents house! They are long gone now...thank goodness. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Mother's Tea

Austin's pre-school had their Mother's Tea today at school. They gave us this cute little book about this mommy elephant wanting 5 minutes of peace and all of her kids kept bugging her and she never gets her five minutes of peace! Sound familiar to anyone? Anyways, Vivian slept through the entire program but Austin and I enjoyed some one on one time.

Bunko Babes with their babies

I had Bunko last week and decided to take Vivian with me. We are called the Broken Arrow Church of Christ Bunko Babes. My friend, Ashley, just had her baby and she brought her too. There are only 3 other girls in our group that are expecting now. We will have lots of Bunko Babies in the near future.

Bribery is okay

We have been trying to potty train Austin off and on for the past year now. We haven't pushed it and thought when he was ready he would show us. He started telling us about 9 months ago that he wanted to go on the big potty but was never consistent with it. Well, I went and bought a bag of toys at the Dollar Tree last week and Austin finally pooped in the potty! Who says you can't bribe a 3 year old? We do a lot of bribery in our house. This story may be tmi for some, but this was a major event in our house last night and I had to share the good news. He even went again today so hopefully we are going in the right direction. He won't be the only kid in diapers this summer at his pre-school and I won't have 2 kiddos in diapers! My baby is such a big boy now. I won't bless you with any pictures of the event. :)

Flashback Friday

So here is a funny picture I found this week going through some old pictures. It was taken right before Spring Sing practice my sophomore year of college. No, I was not under the influence of anything except maybe goofy friends...I was just having a good ole time with my two roommates, Emilia and Natalie playing dress up! I miss the good ole days when I had nothing else to do but be silly.
