Cleaning with a toddler...impossible!
Does anyone have suggestions how to clean house with a toddler running around? Here lately Austin wants to help or watch me clean everything! I have been thinking about trading off a few hours with a friend so I can watch their kids while they clean/run errands and then they could do the same for me. I have also lacked having the energy to clean my entire house here lately....this baby takes all my energy these days! Any cleaning advise is helpful...most of you know I like a clean house!

Not only is cleaning with a toddler almost impossible, it is pointless too because they will destroy all your hard work in like 2 minutes. I, however, pick up the house while they are playing in their rooms, out in the backyard (thankfully they are good at entertaining themselves), or the best time is naptime (although lately I have been using that time for more of a naptime for myself than cleaning time).

I usually end up just picking up once the boys go to bed at night. And as for deep-cleaning...that is why I sighned my boys up for a Mother's Day Out program. It has been heavenly!
i find that putting the kid in a closet with some glass and matches will keep them quiet for hours.
I give David a spray bottle with a little bit of water and let him do the floors. It keeps him busy for a few minutes.
Also, since my house is two levels I never let them go upstairs or downstairs without getting wherever we are picked up. That way I never have the whole house messy. I think my friend's kids get really frustrated because they want to run all over the house, but that is way too much mess!
Just keep in mind that the whole house will never be good all at once and be content with a clean bathroom one day, etc.

I do have to say that I got almost the entire house cleaned yesterday but it seriously took me all day! I usually clean in spurts because like Nat said....my entire house usally doesn't get cleaned all at once. I feel better now that I got it ALL cleaned...I am having the girls over tonight! :)
