Fallin in Love with Fall

Since I am behind on blogging am I putting it all in one blog!!!

I LOVE fall!!!! You get to pull out all your comfy, warm clothes, make hot chocolate and cuddle up and watch movies!!! We had lots of fun this week with the kids. Our church had their fall carnival this week. I really like it better than trick or treating because it is indoors (nice and toasty) and all our friends are there. This year the kids are batman and batgirl/batbaby. I figure she will be a fairy/princess every year from here on. Yes, Austin had pink eye the very next day. I swear it was from putting his had in the bags of candy after playing each game! I think I will ask neighbors to hand the candy to him on Saturday night...yes I am a germophobe right now.

Nick and his batbaby...she stayed up till 8! That's late for her.

Austin and Addi..so shy here

We had Austin's pre-school Fall party this week too. I signed up to be homeroom mommy which is really the perfect job for me. I really should have been an event planner. Anyhow, the kids had lots of fun doing their thing.

This is the mommy mummy game. I asked the only dad that came to the party to volunteer instead so it was Daddy mummy. Very inexpensive, and the kids love it!

Serious Batman

Yes, sister got to come to the party too!

The kids made these frames at the party

My parents came tonight to visit for the weekend...we made pumpkin chip muffins and let Austin decorate them and carved a pumpkin

I drew it, Nick carved it

This is a cute poem I sent home with my pre-schoolers last year...Nicks says it cheesy but I thought I would share it anyways

You are a Pumpkin in God’s patch

God picks you from the patch, brings you in,
And washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and
Puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

And you my dear ARE a child from God!

Austin's final masterpiece

Pumpkin Chip Muffins

1 1/2 C oil
3 C flour
2 tsp.baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 C chocolate chips

Beat eggs, sugar, pumpkin & oil until smooth. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients to mixture, fold in chocolate chips.

This used to be Austin's shirt...I know, she has no bow on her head :)

Pumpkin Patch '09

We decided to go to the pumpkin patch yesterday...let me just say it was freaking cold!!! We had a busy weekend and with all the rain that we have had and expect, it was kind of the last day we could go. Luckily I had just got the kids new winter hats and gloves. Too bad Vivian wasn't with me when I bought them because her hat was way too big but we improvised. Austin was way into the petting zoo this year which was good for us because that was the free part. Austin looks at the ponies every year and thinks he wants to ride but never quite gets on...maybe next year. Vivian rode the hay ride with us and seemed to enjoy it although I am sure she was wondering why we had our 7 month old out in cold weather. All in all we had a good time and plan to do some carving next week.

Vivian is 7 months!

Vivian is 7 months old! Weighs 14lbs, 10 oz (11%) and is 25.5inches (21%). How time flies! The older she gets, the more fun we have together. Since she is our last, I get sad when she reaches a new milestone. I anticipate what is to come and then when it comes it is bitter sweet. She got 2 teeth this week and 4 shots from her well baby visit. Poor girl! She is still sweet as ever and has a very easy temperment. She doesn't like to be rocked much..she is fine with us just laying her in her crib and putting herself to sleep. That is what all the books train you to do but I still want to rock her from time to time. She isn't crawling yet but I am sure I will have my hands full before too long...gotta childproof my cabinets since this is a new house!

I thought I would post some pictures from this past month. She has changed so much!

7 months today!

Her face is filling out

Yeah, she ate all 3 of these the other night!! Pretty much inhaled them...probably took the above pic after she ate this...lol

This is how she has her paci about 1/2 the time. Serves as a paci and teether!

Fair Fun

So we went to the fair like over 2 weeks ago. I took a few pictures with my phone and forgot about them. We LOVE going to the fair. I think Austin is going to take after us too. He was all about the rides, food and games this year which only means one thing...we better take more money next year!

Vivian's first trip to the fair...she didn't do much but was content in her stroller. I fed her at one of those booths where this guy was selling chairs made out of milk jugs. Poor guy didn't have a customer the entire time I fed her!

Driving a car...you can't see the girl next to him but she rode this ride over and over again with him. Lets just say she wasn't the cutest 3 year old at the fair.

I felt like a giant on this ride

He rode the sky line with me! Yeah he had identity problems...batman from the neck up and superman from the neck down!

Yeah we are goobers.

Me: No, mommy doesn't have a boo boo
Austin: No, Boob Boob
Me: Yes, mommy has boobs
Austin: tiny and big boobs

Wedding

I haven't been to a wedding in 2 years!!! It seems like Nick and I were in a wedding every summer after college and then all of our friends married and moved on to having babies. Well, my cousin, Karissa, got married this weekend. It was so nice to get to see all of our family together. It is hard to get together at Holidays now since we all have in laws we go to. I was the cake cutter so I got to wear a pretty flower on my dress! Vivian made it almost the entire reception. Nick's mom was kind enough to attend the wedding with us and then took her back to her house to put her asleep. I can't believe Karissa is married! She was the first baby I ever held! Yeah, I'm feeling old!! Congratulations Karissa and Andrew. I wish you tons of happiness and great memories together!

Here are some pics of the big day.

The beautiful bride...Congrats!

Turkey Iron On Applique's

So I love to shop on Etsy!! I found these Turkey iron on applique's on there a few weeks ago and couldn't resist! I already had a few plain white tees for both Vivian and Austin so it worked out perfectly. I bought them for $5 each but they are now $6.25. I am not a crafty person, but I felt craft doing these for some reason. I am thinking about adding some bling to Vivian's onesie on the neck line. I did the feathers a little different on each shirt. If you want one for your little turkey go to www.zingotots.blogspot.com
