Another Girls Day Out

I seriously thought my social life was going to come to an end once I had two children. Amazingly, I have had several girls night outs since Vivian was more. It seems as though I have had more than usual actually. My friend Jessica (from college) turned 30 this past weekend and a bunch of us surprised her on Saturday with lunch, pedicures, shopping and dinner. We usually only get together about once a year so it was nice to see the girls twice this year. I haven't shopped much in Utica Square since it is hard to take children. It was a nice day out and I thank God for these great friends.

I had heard about this vintage phone booth there...Talking to someone real important

Erin stayed the night and finally met Vivian, is it me or could Erin pass as Vivian's mom too? Austin just loved her!

Austin

Since the last post was all about Vivian I figured it was time to do an Austin post. His hair is starting to grow back slowly but surely so family pictures are still on in a few weeks :) He has been wearing his batman pj's I got at the Just Between Friends sale for the past week. I have managed to wash them a few times when he wasn't looking. I came home this weekend with a few friends to find him crashed on the couch. He has started napping just a few times a week. Not sure I like that! I have been fighting upper respiratory stuff the past week so I wasn't feeling good this morning so I put together a inside car wash for Austin to keep his interest for a bit. He has his own brush, squirt bottle and towel to dry them off. We even had a Little Tikes car wash he ran the cars threw. Pretty fun entertainment considering he washed all his cars and my kitchen smelled like Dawn afterwards.

6 months old

Vivian was 6 months this week. I just can't believe it. She is growing so fast. I am so glad I decided to stay home to be with her this year. They are only this young once and I want to cherish every moment and make as many memories as I can. She absolutely loves her brother. If he walks out of the room her eyes follow him. They are starting to play together now. Austin gets in her play gym with her and they just lay there and play. He is constantly saying, "awe...baby Vivian so cute, I love her". At school Austin acts like she is his show and tell everyday. He has to make sure everyone sees her. She is still a very easy baby and content unless she is tired, hungry, dirty diaper or sick. She smiles all the time but is so quite. She giggles if you tickle her or blow raspberries on her tummy. Other than that she is pretty quiet. She wakes up happy and just plays until I come get her (or until Austin beats me in there and greets her first). She really is a sweet, happy baby. She goes by a lot of names right now...Vivian, Vivi, sister, girlfriend, baby Vivian, Vivster. LOL Here are some things she is doing at 6 months.

Wears 3-6 month clothing...size 1 shoe
Sits momentarily on her own
Rolls from tummy to back and back to tummy
Blows raspberries
Loves her brown headed baby doll...holds on to her pig tails
Chews everything (teething)
Pulls hair
Still takes a pacifier
Eats 7oz of formula at each feeding
Eats 1 fruit or vegetable a day....sometimes 2! Loves carrots! Hates peas!

She loves to watch this leopard ribbon on the lamp shade in her room...not sure why but the humidifier lets out air and makes it fly in the air so I guess that is entertaining?
Poops just about every morning in her exersaucer...a routine girl!
Still likes her bows
Will go to sleep on her own but we like to rock her for a few minutes and enjoy that time :)
Loves to watch Praise Baby

Sleeps all night 7-7ish...on occasion will get up for a feeding and then sleep till like 9!
Has had 2 ear infections so far...hopefully no more and no tubes.
Loves her bath...likes trying to catch the water when I pour it over her tummy
If she is eating her bottle she is very curious about whatever else is going on in the room...she will move her head back and forth making it difficult to actually feed her. We will call her Curious George.

I don't have her baby book up to date so at least I blogged about her turning 6 months!

Random....

Just thought my page needed a new post. We have been extremely busy in our house lately. Austin had the croup and now Vivian has her 2nd ear infection in 3 weeks! I started boot camp with my cousin's wife so that has been taking up a lot of my time. We are working out Biggest Loser style 3 nights a week. I hate it but love it at the same time if that makes since. I am lucky that Nick is supportive and watches the kids when I go. Vivian is usually asleep before I leave so that helps! Other than that we really haven't been up to much since we have been staying home with sick kiddos. We have date night planned for Friday so hopefully we will get to go!

I would like to share an inspirational experience I had yesterday. I was getting frustrated with Austin going #2 over and over in his pants. I had already asked the advice of friends, family and the pediatrician on what to do. He had the peeing part down but hadn't mastered the big one as he calls it. I was feeding Vivian in her nursery and I just said a quick prayer asking God to give me patience and direction in helping Austin potty train. Not 2 minutes later he came to me and told me he had to get his poot out and he went! I seriously had tears of happiness. Austin and I had to high five 4 times because somehow we missed the first 3 times! Ha. I have never had an answered prayer so quickly! God is Good!

I will leave you with a few pics of the kids!

How cute are these? We got them as a gift from a friend at church. Too cute to pee or poop in that's for sure. You can buy them here http://cutieputootie.com/

So Sad

So I had my first night of boot camp on Sunday night. Nick has always been so good about not calling me when I am out and he is with the kids. We were inside working out our abs (or trying to) and I heard my phone. I of coarse went to check the voicemail since he never calls. He just said to call him before I got home. I immediately texted him and asked if everything was okay. He told me to keep an open mind. I thought either one of the kids was sick or he wanted some "attention" when I got home. I then call him and he tells me that Austin got gum stuck in his hair and he shaved his head!!! I wasn't there to see how bad it was but Nick said Austin cried and cried while he was using ice and Vaseline to try to get it out. Needless to say, I am ready for his hair to grow back, especially since we have family pictures in October. Maybe I am being paranoid, but I feel as though people are looking at him like he is a sick child. I thought using gum as incentives for potty training was a good idea. Take a look. I took this with my phone at the mall yesterday so it isn't real clear. If you don't see many pics of Austin in the next month you now know why :)

And college football has started....

I only enjoy college football for 4 hours on Saturdays and that is when OU plays. I could care less about the rest but our house takes OU games serious! We always watch the first game of the season with our friends, Bobby and Candice. This year we had 2 extra fans...Vivian and their new baby boy, Owen. It was fun although I missed quite a bit of the game cause I was chasing kids around, bathing Vivian because she has reflux and spit up all over the place, and then she got so tired and fussy I had to leave 30 minutes before the game ended. All in all, it was a good time with good friends...although we lost. Austin is going to his first OU game in a few weeks. He is going with his Mimi (my mom) to see Tulsa and OU play. She is brave!

1st day of pre-school

Austin started pre-school yesterday. He attended a new pre-school for the summer since our church didn't have a summer program. We liked it so much we kept him at the new pre-school. His friend, Ryan attends church with us and they are in the same class this year. He had a good day. He didn't want to walk in the classroom at first, but when the teacher told him she had a baby snake for him to see he was all over his shyness. I will be subbing at his school this year and taking a break from teaching to stay at home with Vivian. Your babies are only babies for a short while!

I took these pics with my cell, so the quality is awful!
